The basic objectives of the studies leading to the Bachelor's Degree in Agri-Food Engineering and Biological Systems are scientific, technological and socio-economic training, and preparation for professional practice in the agricultural field in all the activities that demand them. within the regulatory framework of reference. The Degree in Agri-Food Engineering and Biological Systems has a general orientation, but some specialization is contemplated by including two different Mentions from the third course: one in Horticulture and Gardening Engineering and the other in Agro-Food Industries.

The interest of the Mention in Horticulture and Gardening Engineering lies in the need for adequate training of its students in the theoretical and technological bases that allow them to develop management activities, planning and technical advice in the production of horticultural crops and fruit trees within the diverse production systems respectful with the integrated environment, ecological, etc.); planning and supervision of crop management, harvesting, conservation, handling, distribution of food products, waste management and treatment; prevention and treatment of pests and diseases that affect plants, as well as their genetic study, and the design, execution and maintenance of gardening and landscaping works (urban and / or rural green spaces - parks, gardens, nurseries, urban trees, etc.-, public or private sports facilities and environments subject to landscape recovery).
The interest of the Mention in Agri-Food Industries derives from the need for adequate training of its students in the theoretical and technological bases that allow them to develop all aspects related to the management of agri-food companies in the development of projects, planning, production and product and transformation marketing studies. This graduate is qualified to carry out the activities of transformation of agricultural products; introduce improvements in the technological applied to the control of production, quality, transport and distribution of agri-food products; design, construction and construction management in the field of the agri-food industry; environmental impact assessment and studies, as well as measurements, valuations, appraisals and surveys.
